OMG, I Have a Tweenager

First let me say . . . I cannot believe those letters, OMG, entered my brain and flew out of my fingers onto the keyboard -- although I did think it was apropos to the topic - Tweenagers. At least I can honestly say that phrase has never passed my lips!

My oldest turned nine yesterday. N-I-N-E. The last single digit. Excuse me while I grab a tissue. According to Newsweek, he's a tweenager! Actually, unbeknownst to me, he has been one for a year. As I type, I find my mind racing with the phrase OMG, OMG, OMG -- but with a different intonation than the stereotypical Jonas-obsessed teenage girl.

He's already amassing a quite impressive cache of electronic equipment. Add to that the Kindle he got for his birthday. That boy can blow through some books and his bookshelf has already fallen down once. OK, OK, I admit I really hope he lets me use it too!

This is definitely a topic I want to expand upon but in the meantime, Miss Procrastination here did not even think about a cake until late last night (we're celebrating his birthday tonight.) I found a picture of this online and wah-la . . . check out this cake:

  1. Cute cake! Are those kit-kats and M&M's on the top of a cake? Very creative!!

  2. Yes, so easy! I made a box cake, iced it with chocolate icing and then used two 6-packs of KitKats. I broke each in half (two to a section), placed around then tied with a ribbon to hold it together. Then poured M&Ms on top. Sugar overload!!!
