Ain't Love Grand?
February 14th. Since the era of my discovery of the male species and how it relates to me, Valentine's day has always been full of mixed emotions. Now I can honestly say that I am full-on boy crazy. Crazy in love, I'll do whatever you want crazy, I'll follow you to the ends of the earth crazy, I would give my life for you crazy --- times three! No wonder I feel like I am losing my mind sometimes.
Although my brain is usually bursting with thoughts, I've been feeling a little uninspired to write anything lately. Isn't that manic depressive? Sometimes high and sometimes low? Anyway, my mom has been having health issues since August and yesterday she had unexpected surgery. Needless to say, my thoughts have been mostly about her and how I can fit everything that I need to do into one day. She's another one I'm crazy about so I'll do what I have to do. Ain't love grand?
Since my mom is in the hospital, I invited my dad to eat Valentine's Day dinner with us. We're having red meat (filet), red quinoa (it's so much more flavorful than the plain kind!), salad and broccoli. I thought since I never use my china and crystal, I would tonight. I hope the boys don't break anything. Oh, and we're toasting with sparkling cider in my cute lavender champagne coupes that CLH and I got for our wedding that we've never used. (Bit of trivia: Did you know that the shape of a champagne coupe is supposedly modeled after Marie Antoinette's breast?) Here's my table and also my Valentine's flowers:

I am just getting around to reading blogs so I'm playing catch up! I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she's doing well now! :-(
