Secret Crushes
Disclaimer: boy-free post.
How many times do you think about someone and how special they are to you but never say a word? As for me, I do that a lot. So my sneaky way of getting around that is to blog about them! No face-to-face awkwardness where they may be thinking, "Is she dying, is that why she's saying all this?" or "Does she want to leave her husband for me?" Every so often, I will acquaint you with one special person while confessing my undying admiration, love, etc. for them. By the end, you'll be crushing too!
Super Mom only describes 1/4th of the woman I have been crushing on since oh, three maybe four years. Not only does SM take her oldest's classroom by storm while she has the responsibility of THREE other chilrens, she manages to focus on that one single, precious, most handsome, sweetest little boy. And the others, they get undivided attention too. One is the carbon copy of his big brother - in looks and in sweetness. I want to eat him up! The newest additions are two-month old twin girls. Girls! That male-only-no-more momma gets to do hair one day! And believe me, if they are anything like her brothers, they are going to have nice, shiny "good" hair. Perfect for braiding and bows.
Enough about the kids . . . I said 1/4th the woman because she is so much more than momma. SM is seriously one of the kindest, most generous, happiest FRIENDS I know. I can't remember ever seeing a frown on her face, a tear in her eye or a harsh word come from her mouth. That's not to say she doesn't have a bad day or week or month -- we all do. But you would never know, which we also all know that can be good and bad. I think and pray that she knows if she ever does, me and many others are just a phone call away.
To paraphrase Melvin from As Good As it Gets, "She makes me want to be a better woman."
Little does SM know how much she helped me through a very difficult time. On the day I felt my grandfather's spirit fly away, her babies were born. Her oldest was playing with my youngest after school that day. While dropping that dearest boy with his daddy at the hospital, I got the privilege of seeing and holding those priceless little pink bundles. Even this foot-in-the-mouth girl knew better than to mention the death that occurred earlier. While cradling new life, I couldn't help but think how ironic it was. SM and her brood were put in my path for a purpose . . . and I truly believe that was only one of many reasons.
Youve done it again! XOXOX ...April
