Adirondack Redo

Today was a day to get things done . . . until golf and the holiness that it is interfered. I sincerely hope that you can sense the sarcasm dripping off my tongue. My goals were the grocery store, the garden center and then a little planting. An hour after what should have been a half-hour trip to the grocery store, I spent another half-hour putting everything away. Needless to say, both the boys had gone with me -- hence, the golf comment (we can't disrupt CLH's tee time!) "Don't they give out cookies here? I want to push the cart. No, I get to push the cart. We need this [5th] bag of Goldfish because we don't have this flavor." And CTH needs a little something more than baby wash so we had to smell every men's body wash on the aisle. After all that and double what I usually spend, I still forgot to get anything to go along with the steaks that we are grilling tonight! Having already pulled out half my hair, I didn't want to pull out the other half at the garden store. All of this is the reasoning for my pre-apology for the unfinished picture of . . .

My new (to me) front porch chairs! I bought these chairs at an antique market down the street and although I loved the color, I felt like it clashed with the house. So I sanded and painted them the color of the shutters. I also picked up a two-tiered flower stand that will serve as a table up top along with a faux bois planter that I bought ages ago and has been holding pencils, markers, etc., and will hold pots of flowers down below. My main man likes them but can't understand why we need them because "we won't ever use them." Little does he know that this will be my place to sit with my glass of wine and flip through my 10,000 magazines and catalogs I get each month. I know, I know . . . I should do that internet catalog cancellation thingy but there is something about seeing printed pictures vs. the digital image.

Unfortunately, my sanity couldn't take the garden store experience today so I'll have to take another picture once it is all complete. What do you all think? Comment below or show your "reaction."
